Design Award 2008 – Nominee
The Design Award is the official design distinction of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Bagno Sasso was founded in 1995 by former bicycle pro and World Championship participant, Rolf Senti. The company, whose existence spans 14 years, developed from humble beginnings to an internationally-active company in the planning and equipping of exclusive baths and spa furnishings. Recently, the company has also managed to gain a foothold in product design. Its products are distributed worldwide, whereby some products are distributed through licensing.
While the head office of the company is located in Landquart, customers, who are interested, can also obtain solid advice at the company’s showroom in Zurich. The showroom, located in the renowned Zürichbergstrasse, was almost entirely renovated in the autumn of 2008, and was updated in the area of design. All renowned brands, such as Agape, Antonio Lupi, Rifra, Alfredo Salvatori, etc. are now available under a single roof. A complete bathroom of the Wettstein Studio can also be found at the Bagno Sasso site in Zurich.
The different ranges of wooden tubs and concrete tubs, which Bagno Sasso offers, stimulate interest from national and international clients around the world. Bagno Sasso’s client database ranges from Dubai to South Africa, Russia, Australia, and America. Bagno Sasso’s Swiss clients, however, have also discovered that wood is a perfect kind of material to implement in the bath area, and is also effortlessly combinable with practically all other materials. The customer is able to concretely “test” his bathroom through preceding planning, which is offered in 2D, 3D or even photo-realistically.
Wood, however, is not the only material which is currently on the rise in the bathroom sector. Cement, combined together with wood, also provides excellent accentuation, and is continuously growing. In the year 2007, Bagno Sasso won the international red dot design award best of the best with its concrete wash stand, “Wedge”. In the same year, the wash stand was also nominated for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. The wash stand “Ammonit”, which is set in concrete, also won an award – the Innovation Award of the “Häuser Modernisieren” magazine in 2006.
Thus, Bagno Sasso always strives to create a custom-made bathroom for its customers, and to advise its customers on topics, such as products, material selection and colours. In order to ensure that the products also genuinely originate from a single source, unique wall coverings and floor coverings, available in natural stone and ceramic, enrich the assortment. Even the use of leather is possible in the bathrooms.
Bagno Sasso also continues to expand its business in Dubai, the metropolitan of unlimited possibilities, where the construction boom knows no limits.
